Saddle Trees, Aulton Butler, Walsall Riding & Lariot

Welcome to our brand new ‘Saddlery Series’.

Through this series, we will be showcasing the very best materials and supplies, hand-picked by us. We will spotlight the highest quality fittings in the production of saddles and side-saddles, allowing you to create beautifully finished products.

Abbey England is proud to have been supplying the international saddlery trade since 1982 and recognised by the Society of Master Saddlers. Our saddlery has become synonymous with equestrian style and saddle sophistication.

We begin this series with the saddle tree.

We are renowned for our exceptional range of saddle trees, and we are the only UK wholesaler to stock a large variety of saddle trees from the world’s leading tree manufacturers. As we all know with saddles, one size does not fit all. Our saddle trees are available in a range of sizes; from 16’’ up to 18’’, with a variety of width fits; from narrow to extra wide.

As the saddle tree forms the backbone of the saddle; providing shape, stability, spring and strength, it is imperative for the correct style to be selected.

Take a look at some of our favourite and most successful saddle trees that we provide for every equestrian discipline below:

Dressage:

Manufactured by Lariot, the Xt250D Dressage Saddle Tree creates a timelessly classic design for the dressage world. As the seat position is of the upmost importance in dressage, the forward-facing cantle and dropped rails offers the perfect blend of balance, with the correct cantle height and head clearance for an effortlessly stylish finish.

Show Jumping:

Produced by Aulton and Butler, The Ab11a Cut Back Spring Jumper B4 Head saddle tree is the ideal choice for creating a supreme show jumping saddle. Providing an elegant yet competitive saddle design, for amateur and Olympic level alike, this saddle tree will be a clear success with your customer.

Eventing:

The Ab11f2 Hawk Event Tree is the perfect all-rounder for eventing. This saddle tree was the first tree with the flexi-point design. As a solid sprung tree that provides plenty of flexibility and movement, there’s just no competition, making for an unbeatable saddle.

Polo:

This AB Medium Polo Tree has an exquisite design that produces a Polo saddle which looks good on and off the field. Lightweight and comfortable, yet strong, stylish and safe. Choosing Aulton and Butler’s saddle tree for your polo saddles will make sure that they are at the top of their game.

Horse-racing:

The thoroughbred of all racing saddle trees, this Wooden Half Tree has been designed specifically for champions. Lightweight, smooth, yet sturdy, with this racing saddle half tree your racing saddles will surely be onto a winner.

Leisure riding:

BEEBEE saddle trees are always a fantastic choice for today’s rider, and the BB3 BS General Purpose Cut Back Spring Tree is no exception. Available in wide, medium and narrow fit, this saddle tree has the horses’ welfare at the forefront of the design. The unique features of the lower cantle, and the rails with a specially raised section, ensures that these pressure points are elevated from the horse, providing comfort and style.

Junior Riders:

Walsall Riding’s PDNR Child’s Rigid Tree provides everything a child’s saddle will need as they develop their passion for horse riding. Made to the highest quality, it is safe and secure, whilst lightweight enough for children to lift. Your children and junior saddles will be sure to inspire the world’s up-and-coming equestrian stars of the future.

Military:

The AB20 Military Pattern Tree will certainly make your customers stand to attention. A fine piece of design, with oh-so classic traditional English lines, this saddle tree is a true masterpiece. It is perfect for decorative and demonstrative manoeuvres and parades.

We certainly know what we’re talking about. Abbey England’s attention to style and detail for military saddlery has earned us a Royal Warrant to proudly supply the Queen of England’s Royal Guard, a huge honour.
