MASTERCLASS WORKSHOP WITH JO HEARD

_________________________________________________

We are very excited to be delivering our Masterclass Workshop for the third year running on, Wednesday,  4th December 2024.
This year, we are delighted to pass the reins to Jo Heard, from JH Leather to host our Masterclass Workshop at the Walsall Leather Skills Centre.  Jo is a very talented leatherworker who has been in the industry since 2007. Over the past 17 years,  Jo and has developed a wealth of skills and knowledge, which she shares so generously through her YouTube Channel.
The aim of the workshop is to get great minds together, to learn some inspiring and practical skills from our talented host and attendees and ultimately, build a community where you can collaborate and support one another.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN

This year, Abbey's Masterclass Workshop will focus on how to pad leather which can be applied to bridle making, dog collar making and bag making. As one of her most watched videos 'how to make a padded collar' with over 84,000 views, Jo hopes to break down any misconceptions of the challenges and difficulties surrounding the making of padded collars and hopes that all those attending, will leave with the confidence and reassurance to make their own.
Jo will be talking about the materials used, and the tools needed specifically for padding leather. As part of the demonstration, Jo will be showing you how to pad a dog collar and a shoulder pad which will give you the chance to have a go under the watchful eye of Jo, she will also be bringing samples of other padded leather to have a look at.
We will also have a session troubleshooting common issues with padding, so have your questions ready.
